Forex Trading Times
July 24th, 2008 Posted in FX EducationThe Forex market is open 24-hours a day from Sunday 5 pm EST through Friday afternoon at 4 pm EST. It provides a great opportunity for traders to trade any time of the day or night. However, although it seems to be not very important at the beginning, the right time to trade is one of the most crucial points to be successful in trading in the Forex market. The best time to trade is when the market is the most active and therefore has the biggest volume of trades. More active currency moves will create a good chance to catch the trade and make some profit. Moreover, Crude Oil, Gold and Silver are trading 24 hours a day from Sunday at 6 pm EST through Friday 4 pm EST.
The business day starts first in the Asian financial center in Wellington, New Zealand, Sydney, then followed by Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore. After a few hours, the market opens in the Middle East (beginning in Bahrain). When the markets in Tokyo are starting to wind down, European markets open for business. After these close, New York begins to trade through the late afternoon in the United States. As a result, the foreign exchange markets stay open around the clock.
