Investors Await Greek Aid Package
The EUR held on to its gains Friday as investors expect an imminent announcement of an aid package for Greece. With the Greek bailout efforts dominating markets' attention, the release of U.S economic data today proved to have little effect on the markets.
The EUR is currently trading at $1.3310 from $1.3246 late Thursday in New York. The Dollar is at 94.94 Yen, from 94.06 Yen, while the EUR is at 125.06 Yen, from 124.60 Yen. The U.K. Pound is at $1.5310, from $1.5324.
The Yen was under pressure today after the BOJ signaled further monetary easing is a possibility. The Pound received a slight boost as the conservative party showed a lead in the polls, easing fears there will be no clear dominating party in the parliament after next Thursday's general election.
