US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St ends lower on profit-taking, banks

NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell in a light volume session on Tuesday as investors seized on renewed concerns about European banks as a reason to sell shares after strong gains last week.
According to the latest available figures, the Dow Jones industrial average ended down 106.71 points, or 1.02 percent, at 10,341.22. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 12.66 points, or 1.15 percent, at 1,091.85. The Nasdaq Composite Index finished down 24.86 points, or 1.11 percent, at 2,208.89.
